From this old stone church in Ridleyville Pennsylvania, Rev. Mark R Watkinson penned the letter to Sec'y of the Treas. Salmon P. Chase which led to the adoption of "In God We Trust" as the U.S. coinage Motto and its first appearance on the 1864 2 cent piece.
